The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Updated Hands-On - Tales From Captivity
When we last saw the stoic Geralt of Rivia, he had been tasked with investigating the mysterious murder of a young man and its possible connection to a local succubus. Now we've returned to take on the role of the witcher, an ancient profession that excels at the study and extermination of supernatural creatures, and explore the initial areas of this third-person action role-playing game. Be advised that this story focuses on the game's opening and may contain minor plot spoilers.
From the title screen we had the option to import our previous save data from the original Witcher. We decided to start fresh instead, and loaded up a new game. Our adventure began with our hero, Geralt of Rivia, shackled within a dungeon. We were in unfamiliar surroundings, and the only insight the two portly guards could offer was that we were sure to hang tomorrow. After they finished gloating, a hooded man appeared and ordered that we be led into an interrogation room. Fearing the worst, we were left with little choice but to comply. However, instead of torturing us, he simply sat us down for a chat. After a few exchanges of vulgarity, we began to recount the events that had led up to our imprisonment.

The tale was broken down into four parts, but we won't cover all the juicy details here. To summarize: it involved Geralt, a certain monarch, and a rebel uprising. Jumping ahead to the middle of the tale, we found ourselves in the midst of an assault on the rebel's stronghold atop the walls of the enemy's keep. We were beset by enemy soldiers almost immediately. In The Witcher 2, the rhythmic swapping between stances has been done away with in favor of a more traditional combat control scheme. The left mouse button controlled our light attacks, while the right controlled the heavy ones. By exploring different combinations of clicks we were able to string together three- and four-hit combos to devastating effect.
While this worked great against the initial, lightly armed troops, a few soldiers armed with shields soon arrived to halt our aggressive advance. For these armored brutes we had to make our own luck by parrying their strikes, meaning we blocked just as they moved to strike, and then we counterattacked when they recoiled. And if all else failed, we could always tumble out of the way by tapping the space bar. We also had access to Geralt's arsenal of diverse magical abilities. Whenever we found ourselves being overwhelmed, as was often the case, a shield spell proved indispensable as it would block hits without our needing to guard.

We also discovered another useful tactic for battling large groups of enemies--the combination of the trap and mind-control spells. Essentially, we would lead our foes someplace narrow where they couldn't easily surround us. We would then stun the first aggressor and mind-control the second, their two bodies creating a wall that the other attackers couldn't advance through. And while our new ally kept the enemies at bay, we were free to cut down the original foe.
With the rebel soldiers out of the way, we turned our attentions to a discarded ballista. Using this massive siege weapon, we could provide some assistance to our brothers-in-arms who were being pinned down by archers stationed in a nearby guard tower. Interacting with the massive weapon brought up a simple prompt letting us load and properly align the contraction by repeatedly clicking a mouse button. Once it was squared away, we cut the massive bolt loose and watched as it decimated our ranged aggressors.
Further into the battle, it looked as if victory were just within our grasp. That is, until the dragon showed up. Obviously, it was going to take more than a few fireballs and a steel sword to topple this beast, so we decided to flee. After dodging and weaving around a few deadly cones of fire, we found ourselves in an all-out mad dash back across the castle walls with the fire-breathing beast hot on our heels. This cinematic sequence was accented with a few quick-time events as we ducked and dodged out of the way of its attacks. Finally, we managed to lodge our rusty sword in the creature's mouth and sent it packing, hopefully with a bad case of tetanus as well.

We'll go ahead and cut the story off there, but suffice it to say that things did not end up going as planned. Graphically, The Witcher 2 was a beautiful game to behold, with its soft, muted color palette and realistic-looking sunlight. On the high graphical setting there was an impressive amount of detail on both the character models and the environment. The Witcher 2's revamped gameplay, impressive visuals, and dark storyline make for an exciting role-playing sequel. You can track down The Witcher 2 on May 17 for the PC.

By creating a RPG into a first person shooter game you will not get tired of the same action game with the same twists and turns but what you also get is the depth of a RPG that plays like you are adding your part into the story. Each level is an incredible chapter about the preverbal struggle against our perceived evil in the limits of our bounded minds….
Another moment in this place we call a world. Nothingness, absolute dark… Some kind of life I know nothing about springs now, I wonder if we are that concept to them. That forever midnight caldron we call home is consuming right to our being, or if that is any form of reality now. The Templars fight furiously not too far away. Dropping these vial creatures that seem endless. What is this, why did this happen, how can we overcome this……?
Hellgate: London is appealing the RPG fans and shooter fans alike. Delivered with DX10 displays that should be standard by now, any RPG player will get the maximum experience on their PC, new or old. Hack and slash your way through this immense tale of a post apocalyptic world revealed to be more than we know….
Seems like we are making some progress against this, impossible. Hunters are making some ground with that old, worthless science stuff the used. We did make some progress with all of that state of the art inventions we ooouuuued and aaawwwwed over….Geez, I can barely remember. At least the dark doesn’t so many terrible things in it for now….
Join in the battle for humanity, or at least a bloodline in a rare action RPG that captures the feel of an epic saga with how you would imagine a struggle like this would evolve. Fight with incredible new playstyles that tear into the enemies with detail and precision. You will be able to get first person perspective from different types of character classes also. Truly an incredible, event, which you can tear right into with great action play. Get into the game with long range fighting techniques of the Hunters or close range fighting, sword play with the Templars. You can also be a Cabalist who fight mid-range too. Fight online in the streets of London and get infinite replayability with no two games ever being played the same….
I can feel the struggle succeeding. The Cabalists are keeping the vile creatures at a good distance for the Templars to strike with their tremendous force. These secret society guys really did their homework about this and it’s the only stuff that will get us through this ordeal. I can feel hope, hope our defenders and valiant protectors provided the necessary footing the one thing we are starting to realize that can defeat this horror, us, Man. We can be the undying factor that will drive these terrible days away for good. We got to keep our faith and strength in ourselves, it is an undying force that will overcome these dark days, and we need all the help we can get. We got to get this done and drive this evil out of here. I believe, for the first time in a long time I believe that we will win our way of life back again. Are there any more people out there that can help us……?

Hint: Easy Intel
The following works on the mission entitled "Hunted". After fighting your way through a basement (after going underneath a bridge, across a field, et cetera), youll reemerge outside. A nearby house next to a vending machine and a car should be your target from here. Inside the house, theres a laptop on the table. This is a piece of Intel, and collecting all thirty of them in the game will unlock all of the Cheat options available. If you collect the Laptop, and then head through the nearby checkpoint, it will be permanently acquired on your save file. Kill yourself at this point (a Grenade is an easy way to do so), and backtrack to the house. Collect the Laptop again, go to the checkpoint, kill yourself, and repeat the process. By doing this, you can collect thirty laptops without actually collecting all thirty of them. (unverified)

Hint: Easy Intel
The following works on the mission entitled "Hunted". After fighting your way through a basement (after going underneath a bridge, across a field, et cetera), youll reemerge outside. This is a piece of Intel, and collecting all thirty of them in the game will unlock all of the Cheat options available. If you collect the Laptop, and then head through the nearby checkpoint, it will be permanently acquired on your save file. Kill yourself at this point (a Grenade is an easy way to do so), and backtrack to the house. Collect the Laptop again, go to the checkpoint, kill yourself, and repeat the process. There is a Guy with alias Yodoo86 who is always purchasing the coal, locate him and add him to your list once your mining level hits 40. Just mine the coal and offer him for 100GP.
Keep smithing and mining till you reach the level 20 at each. Create the Bronze bars & convert those bars into stuff at an anvil e.g mail plate body, kite shield, a 2-H or skirt, these will be sold for fairly good prices at the open market. You can probably do the same with runite, iron, mithril, and the steel.
Mine the iron and your Mining level shall raise up by 38, afterwards go to Barbarian Village, there you will mine coal from near by rocks, you will be able to sell them for 100-300 GP per particle. You can earn some good money by selling emerald, diamond, sapphire and other precious gems, you will find them occasionally.
Just get your mining and smithing level raised up to 40 & mine the Gold in Lessers Pits on Karajama Island. You have to be aware of level 21 skeletons. There are 5 rocks. So on a fine night when there is no on, you can strike them in a row which will make your trip less difficult. You can easily obtain Twenty Five gold ore which will become 25 golden bars. Just gather them into the certs and later sell them off 1k per article.
On your buddy's list, enter MONEYBAGS and once you get him while he is on, you will be able to get 1 to 9,00,000 gp.
Move towards house outside of the Lumbridge & gather the iron draggers on the world 13. And also beat the goblens for the items that can either be sold or are gold, this is pretty common element. Sell off your draggers for either 14 gold or cheaper at the market.

There is very easy way to make money if you are a member. Pick the flak and convert them into the bowstrings. You will then be able to sell these bowstrings for 150 gp a piece. You can easily earn 150k GP by selling 1k bowstrings, repeat this process to double up your money.

Bring the tinder box, lobster pot and hatchet. Now go to the island from karamja via the secret hidden door. Fight with the monsters. When you don't have any more food left go back to Karamja through the same hidden door and catch some lobsters. Cut a tree, make a fire and cook your lobster you caught on it. It will give you unlimited life and strength to live in the lava chambers underneath the crandor/karamha islands. It is beneficial and good way to level up against specific creeps, as well as you can get alot of similar stuff from a particular creep e.g get Rune mediums from the lesser demons.
Trick: Tree Level 15
When you are playing in the tutorial mode; at survival guide lady, you need to talk to her and "after bait & fishing net" she will give you an axe and during that tutorial cut down the oak trees that require level Fifteen wood cutting instead of ordinary trees. Its pretty cool, not rather much.
